Numerology is based on the idea that everything in the universe is both made up of and affected by numbers. Numerology uses both the letters in your name (which are first translated into numbers) and the numbers in your birthdate to give indications of your true nature, your desires and your destiny. In numerology, the numbers both in your name and in your birthdate are added together to arrive at a single digit that is then analyzed to reveal a meaning. By using your full name, the separate parts of your name and your birthdate in various combinations much can be revealed about who you are and who you are meant to become. Numerology is probably the simplest of all the forms of mathematics because it only involves addition. The method of addition used in numerology, however, is a bit different than the addition you are most likely used to. Numerology uses the "Fadic System" (sometimes referred to as natural addition) to reduce multiple-digit numbers to a single digit. With this style of addition, you continue to add together two digits until you arrive at a single number. Different types of Numerology Kabbalah Numerology Kabbalah numerology originated in Hebrew mysticism and is based on the Hebrew alphabet. Because of the different alphabet Kabbalah numerology has only 22 vibrations. It also interprets only the meaning of a name. Chaldean Numerology Chaldean numerology, sometimes known as "Mystic Numerology", is probably the oldest system of numerology known. It originated in Babylonia at the mouth of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers near the Persian Gulf. In Chaldean numerology, the numbers assigned to the letters are not determined by alphabetical order, but instead by the vibration of each specific letter. It differs from Pythagorean numerology in that it does not assign the number 9 to any letter, although 9 can occur as the final sum. The number nine is thought to be holy and sacred and is therefore held apart from the rest of the numbers. Chaldean numerology analyzes both name and date of birth. Rather than analyzing your birth name, however, Chaldean numerology analyses the name you are most commonly known by. It is considered to be more accurate the the Pythagorean system, however, it is less popular becuase it is more difficult to master. Pythagorean or Western Numerology Pythagorean Numerology is by far the most commonly used system of numerology in the west. Part of its popularity arises from the fact that it is easy to learn how to translate numbers and master their meanings. It was created by the Greek philosopher Pythagoras, who was born around 590 BC. Like Chaldean numerology, Pythagorean numerology analyzes both the name and date of birth, and the interaction between the two. However, unlike Chaldean numerology, the numerology numbers are assigned to letters in sequence. It uses the numbers 1-9. The numbers 11 and 22 are considered to be master vibrations and are not reduced. Abracadabra Numerology Abracadabra is probably the least used form of numerology. It utilizes a series of pyramids to arrive and numerical values, and these values supply information regarding events and character. Its letters add up to 365, so it encompasses an entire year. New Kabbalah A newer form of Kabbalah was developed to account for the changes in the modern Roman alphabet over time.
